NHM Employees Condemn Salary Delays, Announce Peaceful Protest at CM Residence on Saturday 29th March 2025 at 10.30am

The National Health Mission (NHM) employees of Kashmir Division express their strong resentment over the repeated and unjustified delays in the disbursement of their salaries. Despite numerous appeals and requests to the administration, the issue remains unresolved, leading to severe financial strain on the employees and their families.

It has become a routine practice for the administration to release salaries after months of delay. This not only affects the financial stability of employees but also takes a toll on their mental well-being. For most NHM employees, their salary serves as the only source of livelihood to support their families, making these delays particularly devastating.

The situation has been especially disheartening during major festivals. Even on Holi, the festival of colors and joy, employees were left in financial distress due to unpaid salaries. Now, with the holy occasions of Jumat-ul-Vida , Shab-e-Qadr, and Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, the lack of financial support has compounded their hardships. The inability to provide for their families during these significant days has left employees feeling neglected and demoralized.

In response to this ongoing crisis, the NHM employees have collectively decided to hold a peaceful gathering in front of the Chief Minister’s Residence on Gupkar Road. The protest aims to draw the government’s attention to their plight and demand the immediate release of their pending salaries.

The employees reaffirm their dedication to providing essential healthcare services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. However, they stress that their commitment cannot be sustained under the weight of prolonged financial insecurity.

The NHM employees earnestly urge the honorable Chief Minister and concerned authorities to intervene without further delay. They request the establishment of a sustainable system to ensure timely salary disbursement, safeguarding the financial dignity and well-being of thousands of dedicated health workers.
