Srinagar July 28: Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) expressed grief over the casualties caused due to cloudburst in the villages of Kishtwar.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, party spokesperson Firdous Baba expressed solidarity with the families of the persons who lost their lives in the incident and said that the human casualties caused due to the cloudburst and subsequent flash floods cannot be compensated.

The spokesperson insisted upon the administration to engage its full machinery to trace out the missing bodies immediately and provide a safe shelter and daily needs to the inhabitants of flood-affected areas.”
He appealed to people residing in flood and landslide-prone areas to follow the weather advisories so that the losses due to such disasters are avoided.
“People must take the flood precautions in advance so that threats to lives and properties can be minimized,” the spokesperson said.
Earlier on Wednesday, over 30 people have been reported missing after a cloudburst hit a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district as per officials. The death toll has risen to 7.
A total of 17 persons have been rescued so far. Around nine houses have been damaged due to the cloudburst at Kishtwar’s Honzar village as per reports.
