Kupwara: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Kamraj Forest Division Kupwara destroyed bhung cultivation at Trumkhan Top, Jabdiyan and Bumbus.
According to Divisional Forest Officer Kamraj Zahid Aslam, Anti Bhung drive was organised by Kamraj Forest Division Kupwara at three locations i.e.Trimokhan Top, Jabbdiyan and Bumus in collaboration with Anti Narcotics wing J&K Srinagar, J&K Police Contingent deployed by SDPO Sogam ,Excise Deptt, FPF K06 and K 08 and Revenue officials.
During the operation Bhung cultivation in an area of around 20 hac of forest land was completely destroyed falling within the jurisdiction of district Kupwara and Bandipora.The operation will continue for the current month .
“General public of the area have appreciated the action of the Forest Department and have urged to continue such drive-in nearby areas also,” Zahid said
