Kupwara: In a decisive operation, the Indian Army successfully neutralized two terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran Sector of Kashmir.
On 17 July, actionable intelligence was received from the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), corroborated by intelligence agencies, indicating a potential infiltration attempt by a group of foreign terrorists through the Keran Sector.
On 18 July, at approximately 1230 hours, alert troops detected movement of two individuals through dense foliage on the Indian side of the LoC. The infiltrating terrorists were challenged by the troops, which led to an exchange of fire. In the ensuing firefight, two hardcore foreign terrorists were killed. The operation resulted in the recovery of weapons, war-like stores, and a Pakistani identity card.
This successful intelligence-based operation underscores the close coordination and synergy between the Indian Army, the Border Security Force (BSF), and the JKP. It marks the third successful anti-infiltration operation along the LoC in recent weeks, highlighting the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control and ensuring peace in the Kashmir Valley.
