Bungus has scope to be developed as world class tourist destination: Dir Tourism
KUPWARA, AUGUST 7: Director Tourism, G. N. Itoo, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din and SSP Kupwara today visited Bangus valley in Kupwara district to review the preparatory arrangements for holding of Tourism festival at the virgin tourist destination Bangus.
The dignitaries visited in the length and breadth of tourist destination and discussed various issues relating to its development.
On the occasion, Director Tourism, Dr G N Itoo said that the aim of visiting this North Kashmir tourist location was to physically assess the possibilities who to exploit the tourism potential of the virgin valley Bangus.
Dr. Itoo said that the Bangus has great scope to be developed as world class tourist destination. He said Government is committed to fully develop this high altitude tourist destination where national and international tourists can visit.
Director Tourism said that the Department will develop infrastructural facilities in the area so that tourists can easily stay at the tourist location.
He said development of Bungus valley will also improve socio-economic status of the whole of the district, especially living in nearby villages.
Dr. Itoo said that the the department is organizing a Tourism Festival at the Bungus with active participation of local stakeholders and the district Administration. He said that holding of Tourism Festival will attract the tourists across the country to visit this place and enjoy the scenic beauty of the virgin valley
The Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din, on the occasion assured full possible support for the development of the Bangus Valley.
