Chairman DDC Kupwara Irfan Sultan Pandithpori Writes to CM, Seeks Uninterrupted Power Supply During Ramzan

Kupwara : Amid worsening electricity woes in the villages of Kashmir, Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Pandithpori, has written to Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, urging immediate intervention to ensure uninterrupted power supply, particularly during Sehri and Iftiyar times in the holy month of Ramzan.

In his letter, Pandithpori highlighted the immense hardships faced by people, especially in rural areas, due to frequent and prolonged power cuts. He emphasized that the absence of electricity at crucial times is disrupting daily life and religious practices, making it difficult for people to prepare meals for fasting, offer prayers, and manage other essential activities.

“Ramzan is a sacred month, and uninterrupted power during Sehri and Iftiyar is a basic necessity. The people, especially women, children, and the elderly, are suffering due to erratic power supply. Even mosques face difficulties in conducting prayers,” he stated in the letter.

The Chairman DDC Kupwara has urged the government to prioritize power supply to villages during this holy month, ensuring relief to the people who are already battling harsh weather conditions.

The power crisis has sparked widespread resentment among residents, with many calling for urgent action. Pandithpori’s appeal reflects the growing concern among public representatives regarding the government’s failure to address electricity shortages in Kashmir’s rural belt.

The people of Kupwara and other affected areas now await a positive response from the Chief Minister, hoping for swift measures to alleviate their sufferings in this sacred period.
