Srinagar,June 6: Directorate of Samagra Shiksha Jammu and Kashmir, under the leadership of it’s Project Director Deep Raj today organized a Sensitization Programme on COVID-19 Infection, Prevention, Control and Myths for Teacher Educators and Teachers of Jammu and Kashmir UT. More than 350 participants across the Union Territory, including CEOs, DIET Faculty and Teachers, participated in the Programme.
After the introductory word from Programme Coordinator Samagra Shiksha, renowned Expert in Community Medicines, Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Saleem (MD), Consultant UNICEF, gave a detailed presentation on COVID-19 Infection. He discussed various preventive measures to be taken at local and the institutional level to curb the spread of the Virus. While interacting with the participants he focused on sharing more and more authentic information on COVID related activities with the students during their online sessions. “This will ensure not only their safety and security in particular but the society at large”, Dr. Saleem Said.
During his discussion with the participants Dr. Sheikh Saleem also gave detailed account of Myths being hooked with COVID-19 Virus, especially with regard to the foods, some ineffectual activities and impact of COVID-19 vaccination. To overcome such glitches, he emphasized the need for educating masses about different Guidelines issued from Ministry of Education GoI, WHO, UNICEF etc. “Teachers have a greater role to sensitize masses so as to curb the current pandemic” Dr. Saleem said. The participants on the occasion thank Project Director Samagra Shiksha for organizing such timely session and asked for more such programmes to be organized in coming days.
