Kupwara : Dudwan Reds delivered a clinical performance to secure a comfortable 7-wicket victory over Green Warriors Cricket Club in the Round Two match of the Hatmulla Hunters Open Tournament played at Bandwader Greenland, Kupwara.
After winning the toss-related proceedings, Green Warriors Cricket Club batted first and posted 128/8 in their allotted 14 overs. Abbas was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a quick-fire 32 runs off 16 balls, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build substantial partnerships against a disciplined bowling attack.
Dudwan Reds bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings. Usaib Peer and Peer Akash picked up two wickets each, restricting Green Warriors from reaching a bigger total despite a strong scoring rate.
Chasing 129 for victory, Dudwan Reds got off to a flying start. Opening batters Mudd Lefty and Usaib Peer dominated the bowling from the outset, putting together a match-defining partnership. Mudd Lefty blasted 51 runs off just 21 balls, including seven boundaries and three sixes, while Usaib Peer contributed 47 runs from 22 deliveries, striking five fours and four sixes.
The aggressive batting display ensured that Dudwan Reds remained in complete control of the chase. The target was achieved in just 10.3 overs, with the team finishing on 129/3, sealing one of the most convincing victories of the tournament so far.
For his impressive all-round contribution of 47 runs with the bat and two wickets with the ball, Usaib Peer was adjudged the Player of the Match.
