KUPWARA, JUNE 12: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Telecom Committee (DTC) to review the progress of key telecom infrastructure projects and address bottlenecks affecting their implementation across the district.
The meeting deliberated on several critical issues pertaining to the expansion and strengthening of telecom connectivity, including the implementation of 4G saturation projects, establishment of BharatNet infrastructure, facilitation of Right of Way (RoW) permissions & FRA certificates and mapping of 5G street furniture in the district.
Representatives from various telecom service providers presented updates on the status of ongoing projects. Detailed discussions were held regarding the challenges impeding the rollout of telecom services, particularly in remote and border areas of the district.
Emphasizing the importance of robust digital infrastructure, the DC highlighted that seamless communication services and reliable internet connectivity are essential for socio-economic development and effective delivery of public services. He directed all stakeholder departments to work in close coordination with telecom operators to expedite the resolution of pending issues and ensure the timely execution of telecom projects.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Superintending Engineers of PHE and R&B, Additional Superintendents of Police of Handwara and Kupwara, SDM Lolab, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Planning Officer, Tehsildars, Executive Engineer R&B Kupwara, besides representatives from telecom companies.
