Bandipora: Following trends. Spending time on Social Media. Riding motorcycles. These are some of the major things that modern-day youth usually find solace in. While there’s nothing wrong in doing any of it, people like Fayaz Ahmad Dar are setting examples of their own.
At 24, Fayaz, who goes by the pen name of Aashiq Fayaz Kashmiri, has already published a poetry collection that too in Kashmiri language named ‘Yas Bani Sui Wanni’.
“Poetry came to me naturally. I was just in 9th class when I started writing. Since then I haven’t looked back,” the young author, who hails from remote Tarkipora village of district Bandipora, says.
His book features 103 poems, all in Kahsmiri, including ghazals, naats, poems, etc.
Fayaz also writes in Urdu and has published several columns as well.
“I usually write about love and unity. And also about how we can make our lives better by following God’s fath,” he says.
Fayaz is aspiring to keep writing poetry and more books in the future.
