Kupwara, June 03 : Jammu & Kashmir government on Wednesday released bureaucrat-turned-politician Dr Shah Faesal and two senior leaders of Peoples Democratic Party, including uncle of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, nearly nine months after their detention.
The authorities today released Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Movement founder Dr Shah Faesal and senior PDP leaders Sartaj Madni and Peerzada Mansoor Hussain after revoking their Public Safety Act(PSA) detention orders.
Chairman MC Kupwara Reyaz Ahmad Mir in his statement said, “I welcome the release of Dr Shah Faisal and other political leaders . This is a welcome step and should be followed by release of all political leaders including Sajad Gani Lone , Mehbooba Mufti , Engineer Rashid , Ali Mohd Sagar and other political leaders”.
I hope this will be a first step by the centre for political reconciliation and let we all hope peace will return to our state and we all will live again with dignity and honour. May God bless us all, Mir added.
