SHAHID PEER
Kupwara: In a society where art and literature is usually considered as part time and man’s job, a young and energetic female poet has set a new trend and has explored the new “She”, she knows in and around the society.
Sarirah Rasheed,a teen age girl from Dolipora Vilgam(Kupwara), a black belt in martial arts, a NEET aspiring student and a poet, the author of the recent published book “Peace in Agony” ,is changing taboo in the society where girls are merely exposed to the art and literature.
“I believe those 1 percent women in offices don’t represent me. We have need to stand by our own and I am here to change the taboo that we are everywhere in every field”, she believes with confident and wants to bring a change among other fellow women what she has changed in herself.
She has studied from, Light House Public School, a school nearby her village and qualified NEET2020.
“Poetry is my passion, but being doctor I want to serve my people. Poetry is a mirror of society and to heal that society I want to be a doctor”, while smiling she replied.
A young 18 year old, Sairah has a dream “One day they remember me as a famous Poet”. She just want to be a total healer. She strongly believes in displaying every emotion unabashedly with a mesmeric poetic touch.
“That was absolutely life changer moment. Because it encouraged and boosted my morale more”, she said while writing.
My father is a teacher and yes, my first mentor. My mamma is a housewife. If I’m at this point, it’s wholly because of them. They are my cynosure.
When I was a kid, my father used to take me on his back for miles and taught me my first lessons, the lessons that none else could teach me. He is “The Buddha” of my life, Sairah said.
She has won two gold medals at two national championships and has received Black Belt grading in Martial Arts.
The books descriptions reads, “At the turn, lie my faulty stars, Bound, to give birth to scars. Suffering that is in my shadow, In snowflakes, it starts to glow. I embraced my share of calamity, Found I, PEACE in my AGONY.”
Presently Sairah is working on her second poetry book, which will be released very soon.
“My message to youth; don’t care about what if’s. Keep exploring yourself. Explore the universe within you.”.
