The Special demolition drive was launched by Lakes and Waterways Development Authority through its Enforcement Wing today on 08.05.2021 under the supervision of Enforcement Officer namely Mr. Abdul Aziz Qadri, in the area of, Lashkari Mohalla NFR & Laam Brein in which, one double storey, two single storeys, three tin sheds, one room & bathroom, raised in the green belt area. The violators have taking the advantage of current lockdown (Covid-19) were indulged in raising these illegal constructions which were onspot demolished by the demolition team of this wing. The demolition team was accompanied by the territorial Police of P/S Nishat / PCR Sgr and Ladies contingent who were of great help during the demolition drive due to which the demolition was successful. During the demolition drive all of a sudden some miscreants assembled at site and attacked the demolition team with bricks & lathis in which the side windows of the departmental JCB were damaged. However, the demolition squad remained on forefront and managed to demolish several illegal structures and legal action was also initiated against the violators. Moreover, after conducting demolition it was very difficult for the demolition team to leave the spot in which some squad members got minor injuries in the incident.
All the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction & inlake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions / encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue with demolition of illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments. Moreover the Tipper/Load carried owners are directed not carry / ferry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without getting permission and in case anybody found shall be dealt as per law.
