In another success against the narcotics smuggling in the district, Kupwara Police has arrested a person involved in smuggling of narcotics along LoC in Tadd area of Police Station Karnah. On a reliable information developed by Incharge Police Post Tadd Ayush Sharma that a person namely Mohd Azam Choker son of Mohd Ismail Choker resident of Nawagabra has been hiding some illegal consignment of narcotics with him. On this information, after taking cognisance, Mohd Azam was apprehended and put to sustained questioning in presence of local Executive Magistrate . During questioning, Azam disclosed that he has concealed the consignment in his temporary shop structure in a polythene bag. The police party along with the Executive Magistrate at the disclosure and identification of the spot by the accused recovered one packet of heroin like narcotics substance weighing 650 grams from the shop. Further investigations to unearth the whole nexus is underway and more arrests in the case cannot be ruled out.
