Kupwara, Jan 25: Kupwara Police observed National Voters Day at DPL Kupwara where ASP Kupwara Pradeep Singh administered the oath to the Police Officers and Jawans. Speaking on the occasion, ASP Kupwara said that National Voters Day is celebrated every year on 25th January in India. The day is observed to mark the anniversary of foundation of Election Commission of India on 25th January 1950. NVD is a day dedicated to the voters of the country. It is celebrated to spread awareness among voters and to promote informed participation in the election process. New voters are encouraged and facilitated to maximize enrolment. He further said that the theme of National Voters Day 2022 is ‘*Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative’ Making Our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed. It also focuses on ECI’s commitment towards conducting elections safely during the COVID-19 pandemic across the country. On the occasion, DySP Hqr. Kupwara, DySP PC Kupwara , DySP DAR DPL Kupwara and other officers were also present.
