KUPWARA,January 6: In a snow bound area of Farkin, a village 22 kilometers away from town Kupwara, Army’s 5-Bihar regiment and SHO Kralpora Rafiq Ahmad helped a pregnant lady to reach hospital after she had a sudden labour pain.
An official told Kupwaratimes.com that a call was received by police helpline Kralpora in the wee hours on Tuesday, that a pregnant lady needs to be hospitalised urgently. But due to heavy snow fall no vehicle could reach to the spot.
“We immediately informed the hospital, but due to these snow bound roads ambulance could not go to the exact place. We called the Army’s 5-Bihar regiment and they provided us a vehicle. After that we could rescue the patient and vehicle reached to SDH Kralpora around 03:00 am” , said SHO Kralpora, Rafiq Ahmad.
A lady namely Shabnum Begum wife of Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh of Farkin village 9 kilometres from SDH Kralpora had suddenly developed labour pain. After reaching hospital both Mother and baby are fine now.
“It was SHO sahb Kralpora and Army from Kralpora camp which helped us to reach our destination. They provided an army vehicle and asked to board in it. Both mother and child are safe and we are thankful to Police and Army”, said an attendent.
