Keran, July 26, 2025:In a soul-stirring tribute to the heroes of Kargil, the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles unit in Keran organized a grand celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas at the symbolic Rohe-E-Hind. The event stood as a glowing testament to the spirit of patriotism, sacrifice, and unity, leaving an indelible mark on every heart present.
The day’s celebration was more than just a commemorative event—it was a moving tribute wrapped in emotion and cultural pride. The highlight of the program came when local school students performed a heartfelt rendition of the “Desh Bhakti” song. The powerful voices of the children stirred the crowd deeply, reminding everyone that the martyrs of Kargil continue to live on in the spirit of every Indian. It felt as though the souls of our brave soldiers were present among us, blessing the gathering with their eternal courage.
Alongside the cultural performances, a special tree plantation drive titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was carried out with great enthusiasm, symbolizing life, legacy, and respect for motherhood and Mother Earth. Adding more energy and grandeur to the occasion was a spirited car rally, which was flagged off with immense pride and patriotism.
A poignant moment came when Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Veer Naris were honored with tokens of love and gratitude, recognizing their unmatched sacrifices and contributions to the nation. Their presence elevated the emotional depth of the event, drawing both applause and tears from the audience.
The event was graced by Brig Vikram Singh Chauhan, YSM. Col Bhupender Singh Shahi (Retd) Brig P Semwal, VSM, Cdr 268 Inf Bde Mr Taufeeq Mughal organizers of the car rally. The people of Keran expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army, acknowledging its unwavering commitment to the development, safety, and emotional wellbeing of the region. “The way the Army continues to care for the people of Keran is beyond words—it’s a relationship of trust, courage, and respect,” one local elder shared.
