Doctors, officials at GMC Srinagar, associated hospitals prohibited from circulating institutional information on social media

Srinagar, May 10: The authorities of the Government Medical College Srinagar, have banned their doctors and other officials of the college and its associated hospitals from sharing and posting any institutional information on social media.

Releasing a statement, the authorities quoted the reason behind the same was “to avoid misunderstanding, panic, chaos and law and order situation among the masses”.

The circular came into effect after the Principal GMC Srinagar, Dr. Samia Rashid said given the prevailing COVID-19 surge, it was” imperative to contain misinformation circulating on different platforms including social media
