Kupwara, March 11: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today visited Qalamabad and inaugurated Multi Skill Training Centre at Manzpora.
Additional District Development Commissioner(ADDC), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir and Assistant Commissioner Development(ACD), BDC Chairperson, Resource Persons of Skill Development besides trainees and other concerned were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
On the occasion, the DDC interacted with resource persons, trainees and discussed various issues related to the Skill Development Training Centre. The DDC applauded efforts of the resource persons of Skill Development and said that the Government of India has initiated a galaxy of schemes meant for developing and equipping skills of unemployed youth so that they shall be able to earn livelihood on their own.
It was informed that 4809 candidates across the district have been already trained during the last year under various departments which include Handicraft, Handloom, Social Welfare, ITI, Agriculture, Horticulture and Polytechnic. 1033 candidates are currently undergoing training in 51 established training centres across the district.
