DC Kupwara Reviews Independence Day Arrangements

Kupwara, July 30: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg, finalized arrangements being put in place for smooth celebration of Independence Day 2020, here at an officers meeting, today.

The meeting was informed that main function shall be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara. The function will start with Shahna-i-Wadhan early in the morning. The National Flag will be hoisted by the Chief Guest followed by March Past to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Forest Protection Force, Home-guard and Fire & Emergency Service.

The meeting also discussed threadbare various other arrangements including security, barricading, seating arrangement, water supply, healthcare facilities, availability of fire tender, installation of Public Address System, Refreshment, transport, electricity, cleanliness & sanitation, conducting of cultural programmes, deployment of magistrates, distribution of invitation cards, maintenance of approaching roads and the concerned officers were directed to ensure hassle free & fool proof arrangements with proper coordination.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon all concerned to follow strictly the COVID-19 containment SOPs and ensure use of masks and sanitizers. He said participation has been minimized and limited to official level including PRIs in view of COVID-19.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Independence Day celebration shall be held at Sub Divisional level also were same arrangements will take place.

The meeting was informed that the final review of arrangements will be taken in a meeting which shall be held on August 10 at 11 AM in D.C. Office Kupwara.

Among others, the meeting was attended by DIG, BSF, Sector Headquarter Kupwara; Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, B A Bhat; ASP Kupwara & Handwara, SDM Lolab, DPO, CMO, DIO, , Executive Engineers of various wings, Incharge Cultural Wing, Education Department, Tehsildars and other concerned.

Meanwhile, SDM Karnah, Dr. Bilal Mohiddin has convened a meeting of concerned officer and finalized the arrangments for celebration of Independence Day in the sub division.
