DAK Condemns Assault On Doctor By Goons In North Kashmir

Kupwara,24 Sept: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Thursday condemned in strong words assault in a doctor, by some goons at Dildar Tangdhar in North Kashmir.

Expressing outrage, President DAK Kupwara Dr Ajyaz Ahmad Bhat said this brute act of hooliganism against doctor is unacceptable. Dr Bashir was beaten by few goons when he was discharging his duties to attend Covid patients under Home quarantine in red Zone area.

Strongly condemning the incident of at Dildar Tangdhar by some hooligans, DAK Kupwara, President stressed up on the authorities to immediately book the culprits behind the attack and take stringent action against the goons.

“This is not the first time that the doctors are attacked by the goons on duty. This is going in since long and our concern for patient care is taken as our helplessness. Doctors put in their blood and sweat to save patients in extremely hard conditions and instead of appreciation they are assaulted. Doctors cannot deliver their services efficiently because of insecurity which adversely affects patient care, he said.

There has to be an end to this routine mad pattern of atrocities against doctors otherwise it is difficult for doctors to work under such hostile conditions, he further added.

DAK demands that culprits should be immediately arrested and booked under non bailable offence. They should be given an exemplary punishment so that such acts of violence against doctors are prevented in future.

DAK warned to halt the health care services in entire Kupwara in case the authorities failed to take action against the goons.
