All Red Zones Fumigated
Kupwara, April 14: District Administration, Kupwara is taking all concerted efforts to contain the deadly virus, COVID-19 in the district. As many as 07 villages namely Drugmulla, Manigah ,Trehgam, Baghbella, Gomal , Dildar and ITI Handwara have been declared Red Zones sofar and all the entry and exit points have been sealed completely.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg, concerned field functionaries have fumigated extensively all the Red Zone Areas of the district to prevent further spreading of the deadly disease.
27800 masks have been distributed among the residents of the Red Zone Areas through Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members so far to avoid any further escalation of COVID19. The process of manufacturing and distribution of masks is going on and the District Panchayat Officer has been engaged to acquire masks, locally, to cater the needs of the public.
Nodal Officer for Red Zone Areas, Dr. Rafiq Ahmad informed that Protection Chambers have been deputed to Drugmulla for sample collection which will also be mobilized to other RZAs for sampling purpose. He also informed that ITI Handawar(RZA) have been fumigated both by Municipal Committee Handwara and District Administration for the safety of whole area.
To cater the requirements of the people in RZAs, the Assistant Director Food & Civil Supplies has framed a schedule for home delivery of essential goods.Accordingly, Groceries, Vegetables & Ration will be supplied on every Saturday while as LGP on every Wednesday. The vehicles and the staff of CAPD who are entering the RZAs for providing essential supplies are being fumigated twice both at the time of entrance and while exiting RZA.
On the directions of Chief Medical Officer, Mobile Medical Teams have been formulated to provide treatment to the patients of the Red Zone Areas at their doorsteps to restrict their movement to non red zone areas. The Medical Team is provided with the concerned Aasha Worker of the village to facilitate them in mobilizing their door to door healthcare service.
Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Magistrate(SDM), Tangdar has informed that Administrative Quarantince Centre have been established at Geology and Mining Complex, Hajinard to facilitate the quarantine of the people who have a travel history. The SDM informed that ration and other essential commodities are being delivered at the doorsteps of the people in Red zone areas to avoid any public gathering. The SDM appealed the people to follow the restrictions completely and stay indoors for their safety and security.
