Kupwara: Amid COVID19 and ahead of Ramadhan the residents of Bagaat Colony Bumhama in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district are experiencing an acute shortage of drinking water.
According to reports the residents of Bagaat Colony Bumhama of Kupwara on Monday told Kupwara Times Correspondent that there is acute water shortage flaying the public health engineering department for failing to restore a water supply in the area since past one week.
” We don’t have a single drop of water for drinking purpose since a couple of days. This area has been declared Red Zone along with Muqam e Shahwali.
We called the concerned PHE Lineman but he said that they don’t have water in reserve”
“today we again communicated the concerned field officer and he categorically refused to come to open the gate valve of the pipeline of our area, Zubair local resident said.
In this ongoing lockdown the residents are facing acute shortage of water for drinking or cleanliness purposes .
If authorities failed to provide us water thing continues we have no option other than breaking Lockdown in order to go out in search of water, Residents said.
The residents appealed to DC Kupwara Anshul Garg to intervene in the matter, so that we will not suffer.
