Kupwara, June 26: A speedy army vehicle hit a minor boy in Shadipora Keegam Kupwara here in North Kashmir on Friday late night.

The boy according to locals died on spot.

Local sources told news agency KNT that a speedy army vehicle hit a minor boy and even after hitting him, the vehicle didn’t stop.

Locals gathered and took the boy to hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.

Locals staged a protest against Army and raised anti-army slogan. “It is a routine matter for these army drivers to drive fast. Action should be taken against these killer drivers,” they said.

When contacted SSP Kupwara Shri Ram Ambedkar told KNT that prima facie it seems that Army vehicle hit and killed minor boy. He said that investigation is going on. ‘We are trying to confirm which Army Unit’s vehicle it belong and we are going to take action under law,” SSP Kupwara told KNT.
