Centre for Research on Public Policy (CRPP) organised an online programme titled, “Covid-19 Vaccine; Understanding Facts and Myths” with a penal of experts from medical fraternity. Faizan Qureshi, Media Advisor- CRPP, hosted this programme.
Dr Nissar Ahmad Wani, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Handwara, was the chief guest on this occassion. While laying emphasis on doing vaccination at an earliest, Dr Wani impressed upon “to curb the ill effects of Corona virus by following Standard Operating Procedures in its letter and spirit.” He added, ” we need to spread the knowledge of this deadly virus and educate our community to follow medical advice without giving an ear to the myths, rumours and misconceptions.”
Dr Javaid Munawar, a Gynaecologist at District Hospital Handwara, in his speech highlighted ” the importance of vaccination in pregnant mothers which has an everlasting effect on babies as well. He stressed on “to follow Covid appropriate behaviour in order to mitigate the ill effects of this deadly virus”. Dr Javaid further said, “Covid-19 vaccination has no side effects and Govt. has put all its resources at place to ease the burden of common people.”
Spokesperson- CRPP, Mr Tauseef Ahmad War, said, “as the world grapples with ‘once-in-100 year’ virulence, Covid-19 has by now infected more than 170 million people throughout the world with more than 3 million fatalities”. Mr War, added, “although India managed to control the first wave, the second wave has hit us hard. However, we are hopeful to come out of this pandemic by adhering to strict medical guidelines issued in this regard from time to time.”
