Family says our son dies of injuries
Kupwara, June 15 (KNS): An 18-year old youth from north Kashmir’s Haril area of Kupwara district died on Monday in SMHS hospital after his nasopharyngeal samples turned out to be positive. However with the fresh fatality, the Covid-19 death toll reached in J&K to 61.
According to inputs reached to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the boy was beaten to pulp by some unknown person on June 11, after which he was shifted to district hospital Handwara. Hospital sources said the condition of the said boy was much critical as his body witnessed ligature marks.
“After his condition deteriorated, hospital authority shifted him to SMHS Srinagar for advanced treatment”, hospital sources said.
However his samples were taken on June 13 at SMHS for Covid-19 investigation which turned out to be positive on Sunday evening.
According to Medical Superintendent SMHS, Dr Nazir Chowdhary, he said though he was Covid infected but it was a physical assault case and when he was admitted in the hospital for Head injuries and every person in nasopharyngeal is being tested for the covid 19 and his test turned positive
“Some people had physically assaulted him and a police case in this regard stands registered”, he said.
However with the fresh fatality, the Covid death toll across J&K touched the mark of 61.
Meanwhile a police in this regard have registered a case under FIR No.FIR. No. 59/20 under section 307, 452, 323 and have arrested four persons in this regard. (KNS)
