Asks for restoration of OPD at SDH.
Kupwara, June 15: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Anshul Garg today inspected New IPD Block, SDH Kupwara and took stock of the facilities to restart the functioning of Dialysis Centre there. He also inspected X-ray plant at another building of the hospital.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by District Health Officer/Nodal Officer for COVID-19, Abdul Gani Dar, Reyaz Ahmad Mir Chairman and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that 100 bedded New IPD block was turned as COVID Hospital at the initial stage of outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. Now, while the district administration has created sufficient capacity of 700 beds for COVID patients across the district, the Dialysis Centre which was shifted to another place due to COVID has been shifted back to the IPD block SDH Kupwara, which is centrally located at the town. He was informed that the Dialysis is being done free of cost for BPL and Golden Card holder patients, while as, Rs.950 are being charged for APL categories in the Dialysis Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to make CT Scan Machine, costing Rs.5.50 crore functional within two days positively. He also directed for making Digital/X-ray plant functional for non-COVID patients as the new moveable X-ray machine has been arranged for COVID cases only.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the DMO/Nodal Officer COVID-19 to segregate the system of treatment for COVID and Non COVID patients in the hospital and display signboards at specific points in the hospital premises so that patients could get hassle-free treatment. DC said in the first phase, apart from starting Dialysis, all diagnostic facilities would resume functioning in the New IPD Block today while OPD for Non COVID patient would resume within a week for which he gave on spot directions.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed for exterior fumigation of the hospital premises.
“Routine Healthcare Services continue to be top priority besides COVID for District Administration #Kupwara – Over 1.5 lakh OPDs, 10.5 K Major and Minor surgeries including LSCS, more than 60K diagnostic procedures and 318 Dialysis sessions conducted over past 2 months”, Anshul Garg IAS DC Kupwara added.
