Appeals parents to enroll their children in winter tutorials to take maximum benefit
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 27: Vice Chairman, District Development Council (VC-DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today inaugurated Winter Tutorial centres at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Maidanpora and GHSS Warnow. On the occasion, the Vice Chairman interacted with the students in both the schools and impressed upon them to take maximum advantage of the winter tutorial programme initiated by the Government. He said that the winter tutorial initiative is aimed to provide free tution service to the students especially belonging to poor families so that they can compete in National level competitive exams like NEET and JEE. He appealed the parents to enroll their children in the winter tutorial centres to take benefit of free coaching provided by the Government. He said that the Government is expending a good amount of money on the education of a child adding that the students should take maximum benefit from the teachers who are efficient and highly qualified. He impressed that the Government is providing many amenities like uniform, books, mid day meals etc to the children to ensure their free and smooth education. Taking dig on drug abuse, the VC urged upon the students to keep distance from immoral activities like drugs which is destroying bright future of our society. The Vice Chairman also distributed Enrollment application forms among the students. He also directed the Principals for accomodating class 8th students in the winter tutorial so that they can also be benefited. The Vice Chairman asked the young Junior JKAS officers to do visit the local schools occasionly and provide counseling to the students so that they can take benefit of their experiences and can compete in competitive exams like Civil Services. Other speakers including ZEO Khumriyal, SDPO Sogam, BDO Wavoora and others officers who were accompanying the Vice Chairman also spoke on the occasion. Meanwhile, the VC provided Rs.1.50 lakh under ADP to GHSS Maidanpora for construction of Community Sanitary Complex in the school. He also gave sanction of Rs.15 lakh under MGNREGA for maintenance of playfield in the school . The VC also inspected ongoing construction of Library and Academic blocks in the Higher Secondary school Maidanpora and directed the concerned for completion of the projects within the stipulated time frame.
