35 Students Share their Views on Drug Addiction
Kupwara Terriers in association with J&K Youth Welfare Society (Trehgam) and J&K Rahat Memorial Society (Kupwara) organised a debating competition at Awoora Government Boys High School in Kupwara on 25 Aug 21.
The event was attended by representatives from Kupwara Terriers (160 TA), BDC Trehgam, Zonal Education Office Trehgam, AyushBharat™ and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).
The event was organised to raise awareness about drug addiction among youth and also to have a better understanding of the views of the younger generation. The youngsters of our nation are the most impressionable and it is events like this that allow us to find the pulse of the youth and how their minds are getting influenced especially at a time when they are mostly confined to their homes or being guided by social media.
35 students from eight (8) schools, 4th to 12th standard, participated in the debate and spoke on Drug Addiction and Social Evils associated with it. They eloquently expressed their views on why today’s youth get addicted to drugs and the effects of this evil not just on the user but the families as well.
