Srinagar,July 30: In a sudden move today, the J&K government has extended public safety act on former Chief Minister of erstwhile J&K and PDP’s President, Mehbooba Mufti for three months, while as People’s Conference chairman, Sajad Gani Lone will be released today.
In an order, a copy of which accessed by the Kupwara Times, stats that the detention of former CM he extended for three months cited reason that…..”The law enforcement agancy(ies) have recommended the further extension in the period of detention and on examination the same is considered to be necessary….”).PDP’s official Twitter handle first shared the government order.
Meanwhile J&K People’s Conference chairman and former Minister in the PDP/BJP government, has been released today.
The PC Chairman also revealed about his release on the social media blogging site, Twitter.Sajad Lone wrote, “Finally 5 days short of a year I have been officially informed that I am a Free man.” He further said that he will share about this detention.
Pertinent to mention here that both leaders were detained on 5th of August, on the day when Union government abrogated article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
