Kupwara, Mar 31 (KNS):Municipal Committee (MC) Kupwara on Tuesday launched sanitisation in several areas of Kupwara Town.

Accordingto Kashmir News Service (KNS), following outbreak of Covid-19 and the rise in positive cases of novel Corona in Jammu and Kashmir UT, Kupwara Municipal Committee held special sanitation drive in the town wherein free sanitisers were distributed by the President Municipal Committee Kupwara, Reyaz Ahmad Mir along with several councillors.


The drive was carried out by sanitation wing and enforcement wing of the MC Kupwara which was supervised by President Reyaz Mir. During the drive, Mir briefed awareness regarding the Covid-19 and asked residents how to overpower its transmission.

The residents were advised to keep their surroundings neat and clean and to dump garbage at designated places.

In Kashmir Valley, after the outbreak of this disease, 55 persons have been tested positive among which two elderly persons succumbed at Chest Disease (CD) Hospital in Srinagar. (KNS)
