Kupwara November 01.2021. A mega Sports festival organised by District Police Kupwara to comemmorate the Supreme sacrifices of Police martyres. The event had commenced on 21.10.2020 i.e Police Commemoration Day and concluded today.
Hundreds of players from different areas of Kupwara participated in different games with great passion, energy and enthusiasm. The occasion provided them a plateform to display their individual talent and inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship in them.
During the closing ceremony SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas, DSP Hqrs Kupwara Rashid Younis and DySP DAR Kupwara Sarfaraz Bashir felicitated players of the Winning teams and Runner up teams with the trophies and cash prizes. Similarly suitable awards were given to the players for their outstanding performance during the tournament and in final match.
The main attraction of the closing ceremony was the final match of Martyrs memorial Cricket Tournament played between the teams of Friends Eleven Kupwara and Kupwara Cricket Academy. The match was comfortably won by Friends Eleven Kupwara by a huge margin of 50 runs outplaying Kupwara Cricket Academy with an all round performance . SSP Kupwara while interacting with players encouraged the players and boosted their confidence. He stated that Kupwara Police under the aegis of Jammu & Kashmir Police is committed to promote sports and other Youth Development Activities in the area and channelize youth energy in positive manner. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity, good health and sense of achievement. SSP Kupwara thanked the players, spectators and the people in general for making the event successful and reiteriated the committment of JK Police towards youth.
