Kupwara: Lolab Parallel Bypass Road Opened for Traffic

KUPWARA :Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, officially opened the much-awaited Lolab Parallel Bypass road for regular traffic today. This new road provides an alternative route to facilitate smoother traffic flow around the district headquarters of Kupwara. The inauguration was attended by DDC Member Drugmulla, Amina Majeed; SE R&B, Ram Lal; Executive Engineer R&B, Farooq Ahmad; AE, Bilal Ahmad Khan, and a large number of local residents.

Constructed at a cost of Rs.98 lakh by the R&B Department, the 1.273 km road addresses a long-standing demand of the people in the Lolab sub-division. It will ease the movement of vehicles bound for Lolab towards the Kupwara-Srinagar national highway, significantly reducing traffic congestion around the Kupwara bus stand.

Various stakeholders, including civil society members and local residents, have expressed their gratitude to the District Administration Kupwara for addressing this long-standing issue, which will alleviate the traffic woes of commuters.

Later in the day, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the newly constructed Marriage Hall at Zangli, completed at a cost of Rs.2.20 crore.
