Kupwara: On the directions of District Election Officer (DEO), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan (IAS), Mega Voters Awareness programs under the (SVEEP) initiative were organized today at GHSS Halmatpora to raise awareness about various voting-related activities and promote electoral literacy among citizens, especially first-time voters in the run up to the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
Mega Voters Awareness programs under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative were organized by Nodal Officer SVEEP/CEO Kupwara, at Govt. Higher Secondary School Halmatpora.
The event was attended by the Principal GHSS, Mohd Yaseen Magray , Teachers, and students from different schools, officials from various departments, general public, first time voters, community leaders and other target groups.
Participants were enthrilled by colorful skits presented by students who highlighted the importance of voting.
Interactive sessions designed to educate the target groups inspired the young voters to actively participate in the democratic process..
Voter Pledge ceremonies under SVEEP held where participants took the pledge to vote enthusiastically in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the event, concerned Principal / Cluster Head Mohd Yasin Magray, Vice Principal Gulzar Jaffer and Resource Persons emphasized on the significance of electoral literacy in empowering citizens and urged everyone, especially first-time voters, to exercise their franchise responsibly in the upcoming elections.
