Well its a big question of
almost every muslim that why i am here?
Allah SAW says why we are here in a very simple and a profound verse in quran
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّوَٱلْإِنسَإِلَّالِيَعْبُدُونِ
Meaning: ((And i ( Allah SAW ) did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship him.))
He says that the only reason we were created was to worship him. Now whenever we think about worship , we think of praying but actually worship in islam is so far deeper than that. Anything we love the most or rely upon the most is actually an act of worship which means every single one of us is worshiping something or someone at any time. For example some people love money more than anything that their purpose become gathering and collecting as much as they can. This love for money is actually an act of worship.
Some people rely on the approval of others to the point where number of likes they get in modern day “Social Media” affects their mood and behaviour and amazingly this is why Allah says
“Have you seen the one who takes his own desires as his God”
we live in the time where we do what we want and strive to be who we want. If this was what life was all about then why the richest people are emptiest? why are celebrities taking their own lives? why are so many people still unhappy?
The answer can be found in the Quran where Allah says that the enjoyment of this life is enjoyment of delusion.
The Quran with the Almighty’s athority portray our human life in this world as an illusion , idle and cheap in comparison to the hereafter which muslims should fight and sacrifice their worldly life for.
The life of this world is , but just the comfort of illusion. Life of this world is only a play and the idle talk and pageantry and boasting among us and rivalry in respect of wealth. The life of this world is , but a sport and a pastine.
Death is the reality of every single living creature and creature will experience. Everything upon the earth will perish. Everyone from all the nations , from all the generations will be made to stand as equal in the presence of Almighty. Allah SWT will then call each one of us to meet with us individually. There would be neither translator nor an interpretor. It would be just you and your creator and deeds.Not even a single thing and a secret of yours will be hidden that time. Think of a death often. The Angel of death can visit at anytime and any moment. Remember death doesnt discriminate between the young and the old. So seek Allah subhana wata Aalas forgiveness.whomsover is fearful , he will start his journey early and whoever started his journey early he will reach his destination safely.
Verily the merchandise of Allah is expensive , verily the product of Allah is paradise. As there is one of the Hadith “Die before you die ” which clearly says be fearful of a day when you shall return to Allah and you will recieve your reward fully for what you have done. Prepare yourself for Akhirah.
Just always remeber the beautiful statement of Mufti Menk that “the root of all the diseases of heart is our love of attachment to this materialistic world. We know this world is temporary yet we find it so hard to disengage from it.
May the Almighty guard our hearts into desiring what is lasting….the hereafter.
