The residents of Rawathpora and adjoining villages of north Kashmir’s kupwara district have expressed concern over slow internet speed in said area.
Locals here alleged that we experience low internet speed in era of digital India and modern world.
“We remain in touch with our office works through online modes on off days or after office hours to remain updated with office updates, or to provide feedback to our higher-ups. But it takes us around 10 minutes to download a PDF or a word file to check the communications or circulars of the department,” said Tahir Bhat, a Government employee.
The residents said that they are facing internet speed issues from the last 1 year and the concerned companies have failed to resolve the issue till date.
“The telecom companies are hiking recharge prices but aren’t providing a sufficient network or internet speed.All our recharge goes in vain. We are not even able to send a whatsapp message, watching video online is very distant,”said a local.
The students preparing for competitive exams have been worst hit. “We are not able to submit online applications or download the study material because of slow speed small 2 MB or 5 MB document or any small video takes at least 20 minutes to get downloaded. It consumes a lot of time of the students relying on online classes,” said Arslaan,a local students.
The residents appealed the district administration to look into the matter and fix it as soon as possible so the they can have a sigh of relief.
