Keran Youth Center Lights Up with Patriotism on Day 1 of Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations

Keran :The Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations commenced with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the Youth Center in Keran, Day 1 witnessed a series of inspiring and emotional events featuring the active participation of school children and teachers from the region, marking the beginning of a three-day tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War.
The opening ceremony was a heart-touching cultural program presented by students from BHSS Keran and BMS Keran Bala. From patriotic songs and soulful poetry to skits and dances, the children expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. The raw emotions, innocence, and spirit of nationalism displayed by the young performers left the audience deeply moved.
What made the event even more special was the enthusiastic involvement of the teachers, who not only encouraged the students but also took to the stage, joining in performances that paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Kargil. Their presence reinforced the message of unity, resilience, and the importance of passing on the legacy of courage to the next generation.
Later in the day, the students were shown the inspirational biographical war film ‘Shershaah’, based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, PVC. The screening stirred strong emotions among the children as they watched the story of bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to duty unfold on screen. Many children expressed their admiration and said they felt proud to be part of a nation with such heroes.
The Youth Center in Keran transformed into a space of collective remembrance and pride, where the echoes of patriotic songs and the spirit of Kargil reverberated through the valley. The celebrations will continue over the next two days with more cultural events, rallies, and tributes planned.
The event was organized under the banner of Operation Sadbhavana, with support from the Indian Army, especially Rashtriya Rifle Batallion keran to inspire and engage the youth of border regions in the national spirit of unity, sacrifice, and patriotism.
“Kargil is not just a memory, it’s a living legacy” – and in Keran, that legacy is being kept alive by its proud young citizens.
