Srinagar, June 10: Jammu Kashmir Peoples Movement has paid its glowing tributes to late Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beg on his 38th death anniversary.
In his message, JKPM Vice President Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir said that Beg Sahib as Revenue Minister was the architect of visionary land reforms and enforcement of land to tiller reform. He was a seasoned leader who possessed unmatched qualities of an astute politician and an equally innovative. His contribution to the historic land reforms, which led to equal distribution of land resources among poor masses of J&K, has been monumental.
“At a time when an attempt is being made to erase the collective history of people of J&K, the struggle and contribution made by the political leaders of that era must not be forgotten”, Iqbal Tahir said in his statement.
