Awareness drives held by Municipal Committees, line departments
KUPWARA: District Administration Kupwara today kick started Jan Abiyan of ‘My Town My Pride’ programme in Municipal Council Kupwara and Municipal Committees of Handwara and Langate.
In this connection, the officers and officials of Municipal Council Kupwara today conducted awareness drives in different markets of Kupwara Town during which the shopkeepers and other stakeholders were sensitized about the different beneficiary oriented schemes/plans including PMAY (U) and PM SVANIDHI, City Livelihood plan, City Smart Vending, Encroachment free town plan, City Tourism & Culture plan, Resource Mobilization plan, City Beautification Plan and Green City plan. The people participated enthusiastically in the awareness drives and expressed gratitude towards the LG Government and District Administration Kupwara for organizing such programmes.
Awareness through public announcements and sanitation were held in Handwara and Langate Municipal Committees.
Meanwhile, Youth Services & Sports Department Kupwara conducted various activities in Kupwara Town under the banner, “MY TOWN MY PRIDE” (JAN ABHIYAN) in which more than 150 participants took part. The activities were conducted in the disciplines of Cricket, Chess & Carrom. At Nutnussa, the department is carrying out athletic meet in which both Boys & Girls of all age groups from all the Zones of the District are taking part.
It was informed that that the best athletes from both fields & track events will represent the district at Inter District level competitions.
Various line departments also conducted awareness drives about their respective schemes and welfare programmes for the people.
Education department has carried cleanliness drive in educational institutions of Kupwara, Handwara and Langate towns.
