IGM will also constitute a committee to seek further investigation regarding the matter: Chaudhary S-H Gujjar

Jammu,Demanding re-verification of all Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates issue after 1991 in J&K -the Gujjars today expressed serious concern over fake ST / caste certificates presented by candidates to get govt. jobs .The tribal community urged that Government should constitute an authority or issue a direction to all department to revivify all the tribal certificates of employees recruited in Government jobs after 1991, and sought action against fake certificate rackets active in J&K.
The community members were speaking in a programme organized by Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation, here today. They demanded direction for Tribal Department to constitute a ‘scrutiny committee’ on the issue to check the wrong doings. The meeting was presided over by Gen. Secretary Media and Publicity international Gujjar Maha Sabha, Chaudhary S-H Gujjar.
In his address, Chaudhary S-H Gujjar drew attention towards Supreme Court’s and Tribal Commission orders wherein it has been stated that if anyone found guilty of using a forged/fake caste/reservation certificate for getting education and employment, the person will lose degree and job beside face action under relevant laws. The apex court in a historic decision has also ordered that there can be no leniency or consideration of long years of service if anyone has used a fake caste/reservation certificate for getting admission or a job, he quoted a court order.
He said for tribal groups it is a big issue if a non-tribal produce a fake ST certificates before authorities for getting jobs and admissions in educational institutions and the same needed to be addressed as early as possible by identifying such cases by tribal groups.
He demanded that the Tribal Development Department may compile a data in this regard and if anyone found guilty they should be punished and shunt out from Government jobs.
S-H gujjar sought an investigation into the racket of fake ST certificates operating in the State. He said that International Gujjar Maha Sabha will constitute a committee for further investigation in the case.
He Said that, ‘’ IGM will go through PMO for the investigation. He asked Dr. Jatinder to raise the issue in PMO.
After reorganization of J&K, in August 2019, Scheduled Tribes Gujjar, Bakerwal, Gaddi and Sippi are 4 main tribes but unfortunately many non- Scheduled Tribes have managed the ST certificates through fraudulent ways and means which resulted into a great loss to the existing Scheduled Tribes, he said. S-H Gujjar demanded further investigation by the Honourable L.G Manoj Sinha.
