J&K National Health Mission Employees Awaiting Salaries for Three Months

Srinagar, Oct 13: Despite the release of funds to the district level, employees under the National Health Mission (NHM) have expressed deep resentment over the continued delay in the disbursement of their monthly salaries.

President NHM, Muneer Andrabi said that while funds have been allocated by the government, their salaries remain unpaid—leaving many of them in distress. “We have been on the frontlines, performing our duties diligently, even in the most challenging circumstances. Yet, we are being treated unfairly.”

“With Diwali fast approaching, we are still awaiting our monthly wages, which have been pending for the over three months now”, Andrabi added,

Another employee highlighted the financial hardship many are facing due to the delay: “At times, we don’t even have fare to reach our workplace. Despite repeated appeals to the concerned authorities, our voices continue to be given a deaf ear”, adding, “We have already been without salaries for over three months now.”

The employees have appealed to the Secretary of Health and the Mission Director (MD) of NHM to personally intervene and investigate the reasons behind the delay. They questioned why salaries have not been released when the district-level authorities have already received the necessary funds.

They expressed hope that senior officials will take the issue seriously and ensure that their legitimate dues are cleared without further delay. “We urge the administration not to disappoint the workforce that has stood strong during every health crisis,” they added.
