‘Intelligence inputs can’t be refuted: Police
Srinagar, June 24: The family of missing Phd Scholar yet again today staged a protest seeking his whereabouts. The protesters mostly women said that they are sure that Basit Hilal as is being claimed by police has not joined militancy.
Basit Hilal who had gone along with his friends in Naranag area of Central Kashmir last week for trekking went missing. His family is seeking his whereabouts and today yet again they staged a protest in Srinagar.
Carrying placards, the protesters said that they are not sure and refute police claim. “Even if has joined militancy, police should cooperate us and help us in tracing him. One the one hand we are being informed that police is looking for Basit Hilal and on the other hand, police say he has joined militant outfit,” the protesters told news agency KNT.
Some of the relatives of missing Phd Scholar said that he had a different ideology and they can’t believe in reports about him joining militancy.
Meanwhile, a top police official said that they have intelligence inputs that this Phd Scholar has joined militant outfit. “We are not talking in air. We have accurate inputs which can’t be refuted,” he added. (KNT)
