DDC stresses for accelerating Development Tempo
Kupwara, June 23: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the pace of progress of approved projects under Languishing Programme, Town and Bad Pocket in the district.
The DDC stressed upon the officers to accelerate developmental tempo across the district and ensure that all development projects under execution be completed within the stipulated time frame. He also stressed the need for adopting all SOPs including social distancing, use of masks and maintaining hygiene at work places in view of COVID-19 containment efforts.
On the occasion, concerned officers briefed the DDC about the progress of the projects through PowerPoint presentation and was informed that 161 projects have already been approved at a cost of Rs.416 crore under Languishing Projects. It was informed that, out of 161projects, 16 have been completed so far, 134 are under construction and 11 projects are yet to be undertaken.
Giving details, it was informed that the projects being executed include 72 by PHE, 29 by R&B, 17 by I&FC, 11 by Education department, 9 by JKPCC, 8 by Power sector and 15 projects by Health, Industries, Technical Eduation, Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture and HUDD.
The DDC directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of progress of on-going projects with strict compliance to the timelines already set for completion of the projects.
Superintending Engineer, R&B Circle Kupwara, General Manager DIC, CEO, DM SICOP, DIO, DGM JKPCC, Exen Police Housing Corporation, Exen SMAGRA, Exen R&B Div. Kupwara/Handwara/Tangdar and other concerned attended the meeting.
