Kupwara: In its sustained derive against drugs peddlers, Kupwara police here has arrested two smugglers and recovered 500 gms of Heroin from them.
The recovery was made by a team of Police Station Karnah led by its SHO Inspector Mudassir Ahmad when the duo were trying to jump a police naka . Noticing the suspicious movement and deliberate intention to jump the naka, police team apprehended the duo and on personal search recovered 230 gms of Heroin like substance from Ishtiyaq Ahmad Qureshi S/o Gh Rasool Qureshi R/o Taad and 270 gms of the banned drug from Basharat Hussain Shah S/o Late Mir shah R/o Padna Taad Karnah, Police said in a statement to kupwaratimes.com
From the preliminary investigations, it has transpired that the drugs have been smuggled to this side of LoC by the duo in conspiracy with the Pakistani nationals.
Case FIR No. 03/2022 U/s 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered against the accused persons in Police Station Karnah and further investigation are on in the case.
