Kupwara, 27 March 2020: Doctors Association Kupwara refutes allegations laid against doctors by a local in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. They call it fake news and far from reality.
Dr. Aijaz Bhat, President, Doctors Association Kupwara says, “I am myself, witness, to it that a patient with her father met me at the hospital when she had come to consult the doctor. As she had a history of outside state travel and I told her to wait in the respiratory clinic where other few patients were waiting. As Dr. Bilal Hassan who was supposed to be in respiratory OPD was doing check-up of patients who were in the isolation ward.” The patient didn’t wait but left the hospital and later had posted some motivated content against the staff of SDH Kupwara.
He said in a statement issued here, “only after around five minutes Dr. Bilal came and had to check up about 40 patients there but this patient didn’t wait and then post news in this fake news agency.”
Dr. Aijaz calls it very unfortunate and demands strict action to be taken against such fake news pages.
DAK President Kupwara district also informed that all doctors and paramedical staff posted in different hospitals of Kupwara are on toes, doing their best to deal with patients at the hospital.
He further said that isolation wards, casualty, respiratory OPDs (wherever established in District Kupwara) are running smoothly. In Sub District Hospital Kupwara in addition to specialized wards for COVID19 suspects/patients, OPD is smoothly being run.
He further added that doctors are on duties with rapid response teams, going in all villages taking door to door checkups.
He regrets that despite all this, people are complaining thus demoralizing health workers who don’t leave any stone unturned to deal with the COVID19 pandemic.
