*_Asks Engineers to speed up pace of work_*
Kupwara, July 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned engineers to review the pace of progress of various ongoing development projects in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC), Nazir Ahmad Lone; Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; DGM, JKPCC; DGM Housing Board; Executive Engineers R&B Division Kupwara & Handwara; representatives from Education, SAMAGRA, JKPDC and other concerned attended the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that as many as 11 projects are nearing completion at an estimated cost of Rs.66.30 crore.
The DDC reviewed project wise status and was informed that 01 IPD block at Sub District Hospital Kupwara is at the final stage of execution at a cost of Rs.24.08 crore . Likewise, Academic Block, Womens Degree College, Salkote is near completion at a cost of Rs.10.84 crore, Upgradation of Darzipora-Salkote road, costing Rs.1.25 crore, construction of Boys S.T. Hostel at Degree College Handwara, costing Rs.3.01 crore; Video Wall in District Administrative Complex, costing Rs.23 lakh are also at the final stage of completion. Other projects include Government Degree College Tangdar costing Rs.15.50 crore, 33KVA Receiving Station at Teetwal costing Rs.2 crore, KGB at Budrahar Rajwar costing Rs.70.70 lakh; Night Shelter at Zangli Kupwara costing Rs.1.75 crore, Girls Hostel for Gujjar & Backerwal students at Zangli Kupwara costing Rs.3.20 crore and 100 beded Girls Hostel at Zachaldara costing Rs.3.01 crore are also at the final stage of execution.
The DDC stressed upon the concerned executing agencies to speed up the construction works and ensure that all 11 projects are completed during this month and handed over to the concerned departments for commissioning.
The DDC also took stock of the progress of 3 new developmental projects costing Rs.127.53 crore, the works of which are expected to start soon. These 3 projects include construction of 12 MW Power Project at Karnah costing Rs.123 crore, construction of Indoor Sports Complex and approach bridge at Galizoo costing Rs.2.65 crore and construction of Parallel byepass road to Lolab valley costing Rs.1.88 crore.
The DDC said that by commissioning of these projects, Kupwara district will see the new era of development.
