Asks officers to maintain timeline and quality of works
KUPWARA, MARCH 06: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Imam Din today asked Assistant Commissioner Development and other concerned officers of Rural Development department to speed up the developmental tempo in the district especially in far flung areas and ensure completion of all on-going works within the stipulated time frame. He directed them to take all necessary measures for maintaining the quality standards in construction works.He also directed them to ensure regular inspections of works and submit the inspection reports to the higher authorities.
The DDC directed the ACD to fix responsibility of poor quality works on the construction of the Tile Path at Izzgund village so that recoveries can be effected and further action under law can be undertaken against the officials involved in the execution of poor quality work.
The DDC was inspecting on-going developmental works of Rural Development department in Kalaroos block of Kupwara district. He was accompanied by JD Planning, Ab Majeed; Assistant Commissioner Development, Mehraj-u-din Shah and other concerned officers.
During the tour, the DDC inspected various on-going works at Izzgund, Surkoli and Kanipora villages coming up at a cost of Rs.8.84 lakh. The works which were inspected include construction of paths, bunds, irrigation khuls etc.
At Parrypora Surkoli, the DDC inspected ongoing construction of Irrigation Canal being constructed under Integrated Watershed Development Programme.
During the visit, the DDC met several public delegations who put forth various developmental issues of their villages before him. The DDC heard them patiently and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for timebound redressal of the public issues.
