Asks officers to maintain timeline and quality of works
KUPWARA, MARCH 14: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Imam Din today asked concerned officers of Rural Development department to speed up the developmental tempo in the district especially in far flung areas and ensure completion of all on-going works within the stipulated time frame. He directed them to take all necessary measures for maintaining the quality standards in construction works. He also directed them to ensure regular inspections of works and submit the inspection reports to the higher authorities.
The DDC was inspecting on-going developmental works of Rural Development department in several villages of Kupwara and Hayhama blocks of the district. He was accompanied by District Panchayat Officer Kupwara, Executive Engineer REW and other concerned officers.
During the visit, the DDC inspected RDD works at Gushi, Monigah and Gutlipora villages coming up at a cost of Rs.5 lakh. The works which were inspected include construction of Public Bathrooms and Protection Walls.
The DDC also inspected ongoing construction of 10 MVA Receiving Station Hayhama coming up at a cost of Rs.2.88 crore. He directed the concerned engineers to speed up the pace of work and ensure completion of the project within the stipulated time frame so that the people of the area could be benefited.
The DDC also took stock of restoration work on Manigah-Shalboth road which was damaged due to landslide in recent flash floods. He asked the concerned engineers for completion of the restoration of the road on priority basis.
During the visit, the DDC met several public delegations who put forth various developmental issues of their villages before him. The DDC heard them patiently and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for timebound redressal of the public issues.
