Kupwara, July 03: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today inaugurated Open Gym at Public Park Bohipora which has been established by Youth Services & Sports department at a cost of Rs.5.7 lakh.
The inauguration was held in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Nazir Ahmad Lone, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Jitender Singh and other concerned.
On the occasion, the DDC said that the Open Gym will facilitate recreation of the people especially youth besides it will help them to maintain their physical health.
It was informed that the Open Gym has been established at a cost of Rs.5.7 lakh which include Rs.4 lakh on the acquisition of gym equipment. The funding has been made by District Administration. The equipment acquired include health walker, Dual sky, Sit up Bench, Big Turning Wheel, Twister, Push Hands, Rower, Cycle, Abdomnal sit up bench. Besides, it was also informed that the Gym will be open to people of all ages and gender.
