Inspects First Aid Training Programme of Red Cross Society
Kupwara, July 01: The Department of Social Welfare Kupwara today organised one day awareness cum distribution camp here at TRC, which was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; Executive Director, Rehabilitation Council J&K, Ashfaq Ahmad; District Social Welfare Officer Kupwara were also present at the camp.
On the occasion, 15 scooters costing Rs.12 lakh were distributed among specially abled persons by the DDC, most of them were students studying in colleges and schools.
Meanwhile, the DDC appreciated the functioning of Social Welfare Department for working on the upliftment and welfare of destitute and disabled segment of people.
The DDC also inspected the concluding ‘3 days First Aid Training Programme’ which was organized by Indian Red Cross Society Kupwara at the same venue. The programme was conducted to impart special training among the participants (volunteers) to deal with health and medical emergencies in the district.
On the occasion, the DDC distributed participation certificates and first aid kits among 25 volunteers who completed the training course today.
Meanwhile, the DDC directed the concerned to take feedback from the volunteers to improve the rehabilitation and first aid scenario in the district.
